Match Deposit Scheme
The Match Deposit is a one of a kind scheme. Not only will we help you move into a new property, we will contribute towards your deposit to purchase your new home too!
Supported and jointly funded by Yorkshire Housing and the Homes and Communities Agency, we are looking for prospective buyers who need help with their deposit to get a foot onto the property ladder.
The Match deposit Scheme is offering you the opportunity to:
- Move into one of our new properties immediately
- Rent it at a low affordable rent whilst making savings toward a deposit
- Match your savings and help you put a deposit down on your home*
How does it work?
Find out where the properties are by searching on the my4walls website - currently we only have properties available in the York area. Arrange a viewing with one of our friendly sales staff and choose the home you would like.
Once you have chosen your home, complete our application form and we will let you know if you if you have been approved.
To help you save money for a deposit while you are renting you will receive a 20% reduction in your rent.
Save £20 each week and Yorkshire Housing will match it! You could be saving £160.00 every month towards your deposit.*
When you have saved enough for a deposit and you are ready to buy your home we will ask a surveyor to carry out a valuation.
Once a sale has been agreed Yorkshire Housing will match your deposit* and you can become a homeowner!
Who is this for?
Are you:
- A first time buyer (or returning to the market)?
- Earning more than £15,000 and less than £45,000 in your household?
- Already living or working in York?
- Unable to buy a home because you don't have a deposit?
- Over 18 years of age?
- Able to secure a mortgage if you had a deposit?
- Do not have your name on a mortgage and own no other property?
If this sounds like you then you should qualify.
